Performance Tech Motorsports Heads to Virginia for Penultimate VP Challenge Showdown

Performance Tech Motorsports will be making their way to VIRginia International Raceway for the penultimate round of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge championship season. Full season driver Alex Kirby will be at the helm of the #7 L.A. Prep Ligier JSP320, joined once more by teammate Jordan Menzin in the #18 Ligier JSP320.

VIR is known for its impressively technical layout, with some of its most notable features being the drastic elevation changes, sweeping corners, and high speed straights. These very same elements are also what make it one of the more difficult circuits on the calendar to navigate, and will serve as an excellent challenge as it puts competitors’ skills to the ultimate test.

Alex Kirby currently occupies fourth place in the P3 class championship standings, and remains within close striking distance to the top three. As he prepares for the upcoming two races, he will be ready to challenge for more podium results as he attempts to score crucial points in his championship endeavors.

“Our team always looks forward to coming to VIR,” stated Team Owner Brent O'Neill. “Due to the fact that it is such a demanding and fast track, you can always count on exciting racing. We’re gearing up for the final rounds of the season, and I’m so appreciative of all the hard work and dedication that our crew has put in all year long. I’m confident that we’ll be able to have another strong weekend in Virginia.”

There will be two 30-minute practice sessions on Friday, August 23rd at 9:40 AM and 1:10 PM ET, with the 15-minute Qualifying session following later the same day at 6:10 PM ET. Race 1 will take place early Saturday afternoon, August 24th, at 12:20 PM ET, with Race 2 scheduled on Sunday, August 25th at 8:40 AM ET.
