Performance Tech Motorsports Pulls Double Duty to End 2021

Performance Tech Motorsports is rolling into Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta with double-podium momentum.

The veteran prototype team enters the season finale for both the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship and IMSA Prototype Challenge coming off a first and second-place finish in its past two events. Team Principal Brent O’Neill is eager to see what his team can pull off in the final moments of 2021, especially with long-time partners Centinel Spine and Motel 6 present to further support the team.

“This is always one of the best weekends of the year,” O’Neill said. “We love ending the season with the whole team under one tent, especially at such an awesome track like Road Atlanta. It’s made even better by the fact that we are joined by guests from Motel 6 and Centinel Spine this weekend, our biggest supporters. We have a ton of track time with the JSP320 and the drivers here which always adds a layer of confidence heading into the weekend. We’ve added a new driver to our trio for the No. 38 with Malthe Jakobsen, I’ve spent weeks vetting drivers for it and I know he’ll be a great fit. He’s been on fire in Europe and without a doubt, will elevate the trio to dream-team level.”

The No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320 enters the weekend fresh off of its first win of the season at VIRginia International Raceway. Drivers Dan Goldburg and Rasmus Lindh have now stood on every step of the podium this season with the No. 6. Next, they look to add a pole award to their resume as well as an additional win, a feat that will be more challenging than meets the eye as they battle in the Ligier JSP320, a vehicle lacking straight-line speed, due to Balance of Performance, compared to its Duqueine counterparts.

The No. 38 Centinel Spine RediscoverMyLife Ligier JSP320 has grand plans for the season finale and the final IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup (IMEC) event. Piloted by veterans Goldburg, Lindh, and newcomer Malthe Jakobsen the trio looks to lock down the teams’ fourth Motul Pole Award of the season, marking them as the fastest team of the year. Additionally, the group is on the charge for the top step of the podium as the Motul Petit Le Mans is the only IMEC event the team has not previously won.

The long weekend begins Tuesday, November 9, with the Motul Petit Le Mans kickoff party at the Suwanee Town Center, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. ET. The No. 6 Motel 6 car, crew, and drivers will be present for a meet and greet as well as an autograph session. From there it’s all business as the team settles in at MICHELIN Raceway Road Atlanta for four days of on-track sessions reaching its climax on Saturday, November 13, with the Motul Petit Le Mans broadcast live on NBC, NBCSN, and NBC Sports Gold TrackPass.
