Performance Tech Motorsports to Compete in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge with Alex Kirby and Scott Locke
Deerfield Beach (Florida, United States), January 17, 2024 - Performance Tech Motorsports is pleased to announce their plans for the 2024 season, kicking off the year with a dual effort in the first round of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Daytona International Raceway. Alex Kirby will be returning with the team in the #7 Ligier JSP320s for the full season, and will be accompanied by Scott Locke in the #38 Ligier JSP320s in the opening round as he makes his debut in the series.
This marks Kirby’s second year competing with Performance Tech Motorsports, having previously raced with the team at select rounds in the 2023 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Virginia International Raceway, and Road Atlanta. Additionally, he joined the team in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. He stood on the podium twice last year with the team, and plans to add more to the tally in the upcoming season.

The team will be on track starting Friday, January 19th with the first practice session at 8:45 AM ET, with the second practice following later in the day at 1:45 PM. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, January 20th at 9:00 AM, followed by Race 1 at 2:05 PM. The weekend will conclude with Race 2 on Sunday, January 21st at 12:20 PM.
