Performance Tech Motorsports to Compete in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge with Jonathan Woolridge and Alex Kirby at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Performance Tech Motorsports is pleased to announce their two entries in the upcoming round of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Bowmanville, Ontario, on the weekend of July 7th to 9th. They will be welcoming highly skilled Canadian driver Jonathan Woolridge to the team for the event, with Alex Kirby also returning with the team.

Woolridge first began his racing career back in 2009, and has since seen a lot of success in Formula 1600, having competed across Canada and the United Kingdom. Last season he also took home the title in the Emzone Radical Cup Canada championship, Canada's premier championship for Radical sportscars, after winning all ten rounds in the season.

More recently, he competed in two races in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge in the Le Mans Prototype class earlier this year at Sebring International Raceway, one of North America’s most challenging tracks. The natural progression of his racing experience and expanding skill set only adds to the excitement of the upcoming round at CTMP.

"I am very proud and excited to be working with Performance Tech Motorsports for the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at CTMP,” said Jonathan Woolridge. “It's a huge honor to have this opportunity to run with them, especially at my home track. Brent and the team have a huge amount of success behind them and I am very confident this team has all the pieces needed to have a very successful weekend. The #38 is going to be put to hard work and we’ll be hunting down that top podium step!"

After recently competing with the team in the Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International, Alex Kirby will also be getting back in the driver’s seat, this time in the #7 Ligier JSP320s. He will be taking the valuable experience gained from his time on track and in the garage with Performance Tech Motorsports and applying it towards the upcoming round at CTMP. With both tracks featuring elevation changes, high speed straights and technical corners, the transfer of knowledge will be an important asset as the team prepares for this race weekend.
