Performance Tech Motorsports Welcomes Back Top Tier Roster for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen
Performance Tech Motorsports is delighted to announce the return of two familiar faces in the driver lineup in addition to a newcomer on the grid for the upcoming Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. Christopher Allen and Connor Bloum, who previously competed together in the Rolex 24 at Daytona earlier this year, will be co-driving the #38 Ligier JSP320s once again. Alex Kirby will also be joining the Florida-based team at Watkins Glen after completing a series of test days at various tracks over the course of the season.
“We’re thrilled to have these three talented drivers with us at Performance Tech Motorsports,” said Team Owner Brent O'Neill. “We’ve been working extremely hard leading up to this event, and with Chris, Connor, and Alex in the mix, I’m very confident that we can step on to the podium just like our team did last year.”
Christopher Allen will be making his third appearance with the team this season and is looking forward to getting back to work with the crew and expanding on the progress made thus far. “We’re going into the second-to-last round of the season for us, and we’re all extremely motivated to walk away with a great result,” said Chris Allen. “This venue is historic, thrilling, and challenging, and we’re looking forward to putting on a good show for all the fans in attendance. The Six Hours of The Glen is an important race for us, and we’ll be doing everything we can to get everyone’s favorite team on the podium.”
Connor Bloum will be racing with the team for the second time this season after previously competing in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where he and Allen stood on the podium with a third-place finish in class. “I’m beyond excited to be back with Performance Tech Motorsports for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen,” expressed Bloum. “I’m looking forward to working with Alex Kirby and Chris Allen, and I feel great about returning to one of my favorite tracks in North America. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity and I want to express my gratitude to the team and those who made this possible.”
This will be Alex Kirby’s first time racing with the team, but he is no stranger to them. With prior test days at Sebring International Raceway, in addition to another more recent test alongside Allen and Bloum a few weeks prior at Watkins Glen International, Kirby is feeling well prepared for the task ahead. “I’m greatly looking forward to competing in my first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race, and I will be giving it my all to help Performance Tech Motorsports achieve a strong result,” added Alex Kirby. “Watkins Glen holds such a strong history with IMSA, and I feel very fortunate to be part of such a special event. I have been putting in a lot of work and time on the simulator and watching onboard videos to get up to speed. I feel good about the preparation work I have done and I'm confident we can be competitive to fight for the win. Chris and Connor have been great to work with both on and off the track, and I think we all compliment each other very well. They both possess a lot of experience with the car itself and the circuit, and I think I will be able to learn a lot from them throughout our time together.”
The event will take place from June 23rd to 25th, with practice sessions running on Friday and Saturday, followed by the qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen is set to commence on Sunday, June 25th at 10:40 AM ET at Watkins Glen International.
