Performance Tech Motorsports Heads to Atlanta with Laser Focus on Victory Lane

Performance Tech Motorsports enters the season finale with a pair of Ligier JSP320s.

The veteran prototype team heads to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta armed with two LMP3 machines to be raced across two series; the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship and the IMSA Prototype Challenge. The 2.540-mile, 12 turn course features high sweeping turns and high-speed straights, making it conducive to intense prototype battles. Team Principal Brent O’Neill is excited to get the group on-track together one final time in 2022 before major changes to the series formats next season.

“It’s always great to start and end the season with all of the cars and crew under one tent,” O’Neill said. “While these prototypes are set up slightly differently due to race style and conditions, it still is a huge help having two cars running so we can try new setups and the drivers can bounce ideas off one another. It’s been a great season with this group and I’m ready to end it on a high note at one of the most fun weekends of the year.”

In the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar championship the No. 38 Cardio Access Ligier JSP320 gears up for the final round of the Michelin Endurance Cup; The Motul Petit Le Mans. The ten-hour race will feature three drivers, Dan Goldburg, Cameron Shields and newcomer Tyler Maxson. This event serves as the only endurance race the team has yet to win, making a flawless weekend resulting in victory all the more important to the group.

In IMSA Prototype Challenge the No. 6 Ligier JSP320 is back for a whirlwind weekend that reaches its climax with Round 5 at 8:00 a.m. EDT on Friday, September 30. The No. 6 will be piloted by the season long pairing of Oscar Bittar and Dan Goldburg as they embark on their final quest for a podium finish. The duo has improved each race since Round 1 at Daytona International Speedway; they look to keep this trend true and finish the 2022 season on a high note.

The weekend begins on Wednesday, September 28 with IMSA Prototype Challenge practice. From there on out it’s all hands-on deck as the team runs back-to-back sessions, finally ending with the Motul Petit Le Mans on Saturday, October 1 at 12:10 p.m. EDT. All races can be watched live on NBC Peacock TV, or listened to live on IMSA Radio.
