Penultimate Challenge for the No. 38

Performance Tech Motorsports’ 2021 season flew by, but the fight isn’t over yet.

The No. 38 Centinel Spine’s rediscovermylife.org Spine Community Ligier JSP320 is headed into the penultimate event of the 2021 season at Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The new LMP3 class features a six-race series visiting some of the most renowned circuits in North America. For the first time the team will experience the 14 turn, 4.048-mile course as its second to last event, something the entire group is excited for.

“Road America is a track we always have done well at,” Team Principal Brent O’Neill said. “We’ve finished on the podium the last few years here. It may be a sprint race but what a lot of drivers and teams don’t realize is it takes endurance strength to do well. The drivers need to be in good shape to stay consistent in a stint here. And you have to build a strong car. If something happens in Turn One it has to make it over 3.5 miles to get back to pit lane. I’m confident that putting Dan and Rasmus in the car is the right choice to get us the results we want.”

Driver Rasmus Lindh is headed back to Road America with the team on the hunt for a repeat podium finish. In 2020 Lindh received a call at 10:00 p.m. the day before the teams’ event with an invitation to come and drive the sister Ligier JS P320. Since then, his dedication has not wavered and his comfort in the prototype has grown 10-fold. This season he looks to win in the No. 38, earning the machine and team its first win of the season.

Driver Dan Goldburg will once more be joining Lindh in the No. 38 for the pair’s second IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship sprint event. Goldburg was the second half of the podium pursuit in 2020 at Road America providing him with priceless knowledge headed into the event. His experience mixed with his amplified training program and seat time this year makes him the perfect candidate to help the No. 38 finish on top.
