Lindh Earns First Motul Pole Award for Twelve Hours of Sebring

Rasmus Lindh dominated IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship qualifying, earning the Motul Pole Award for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advanced Auto Parts.

The Swedish superstar netted Performance Tech Motorsports’ first Motul Pole Award of the year with a 1:56.001-minute lap-time. The unprecedented time also earned the No. 38 Ligier JS P320 and company the LMP3 lap record at Sebring International Raceway. This coveted starting position is a key piece in the two-time Twelve Hours of Sebring winners’ plan as it pushes for a third time on the podiums’ top step.

“That was a mega lap by Rasmus and a great effort by the whole team,” Team Principal Brent O’Neill said. “Sebring is our home track and one we feel confident at, but it takes a lot to put together a lap like that. It puts us exactly where we need to be tomorrow to push for our third win. Now we just have to go out, keep our noses clean and be out there at the end.”

“That was a lot of fun out there,” Lindh said. “After our great run in the No. 6 last weekend I knew we could lay a fast lap down. Performance Tech has won this race many times which is very important knowledge to have in an endurance race. I’m confident in our car and drivers to do well tomorrow. Thank you again to Performance Tech for this opportunity, I’m really looking forward to the race.”

The 69th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advanced Auto Parts begins tomorrow at 10:10 a.m. ET. Lindh will push the No. 38 to its limits with codrivers Dan Goldburg and Mateo Llarena for 12 grueling hours in pursuit of the first LMP3 win at Sebring International Raceway. The start will be broadcast live on your local NBCSN station and can be viewed through its entirety on NBC Sports Gold TrackPass.
