If Virginia Is for Racing Lovers Performance Tech Motorsports Fits Right in

Performance Tech Motorsports is ready to leave it all on the line to earn Motel 6’s first win of the 2021 season.

The No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320 will make its penultimate appearance in 2021 this weekend at VIRginia International Raceway. Piloted by Dan Goldburg and Rasmus Lindh, the red and blue machine currently sits in fifth place with the ability to advance to third place this weekend if the stars align.

Team Principal Brent O’Neill has seen his team reel in championships in the final events before leaving him with no doubt that it can be done again.

“What it really comes down to at this point is execution,” O’Neill said. “We need to forget about the other teams and just go out there and push. The drivers need to make zero mistakes and the crew needs to maximize the time. We always work well under pressure, so I think you’ll see us snag a couple of more pole positions and podium finishes before the season is done.”

As Goldburg’s second season in the No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320 nears its end his speed and comfort in the vehicle continue to exponentially increase. The high-speed track features brisk transitions from its long straights to its sharp turn sequences challenging even the most seasoned professionals. Goldburg showed mastery of the circuit in 2020 and looks to do so again this weekend, ideally ending on the top step of the podium.

After making his VIRginia International Raceway debut with the team in 2020, Lindh has been eager to get back to the 3.27-mile, 17 turn venue. Much like Goldburg, he has spent the last 10 months dialing in the No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320, maximizing the overall speed and performance of it. Now, with only two events remaining, he looks to put the final pieces of the puzzle into place and finish on top.

The weekend begins Friday, October 8, for the No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320 with Practice One at 3:30 p.m. ET. The team returns to the track Saturday, October 9, for Practice Two at 10:00 a.m. and Qualifying at 4:35 p.m. Finally, the No. 6 takes to the track for its penultimate challenge Sunday, October 10, at 8:50 a.m. live on NBC Sports Gold TrackPass. Motel 6 Moments

Dan Goldburg, Driver of the No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320

§  Favorite part of VIR: The top of the esses where we are doing 160 MPH. It’s full throttle and we crank a pretty hard right hander without lifting.

§  Favorite place to eat near the track: Aunt Millies Pizza. There so much cheese. And order a banana split.

§  How many times have you raced at VIR: Last year was the first time racing there for both

Rasmus and me. This will be our second event.

§  Favorite car to drive at VIR: The No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320 of course.

Rasmus Lindh, Driver of the No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320

§  Favorite part of VIR: I really like the layout of the first part of the track. The turn sequence is great.

§  Favorite car to drive at VIR: The No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JSP320

§  What’s the best turn sequence for people to watch from: The last two corners are great!
