The Final Countdown

Performance Tech Motorsports is prepared to leave it all on the line during the IMSA Prototype Challenge season finale.

While almost the entirety of the 2020 season has been unlike any other one thing remains consistent; Performance Tech Motorsports' ability to overcome adversity and deliver results in unimaginable circumstances. The Deerfield Florida based team enters the weekend at MICHELIN Raceway Road Atlanta with its two Ligier JS P3 entries on the hunt for a pair of podium finishes and championship points. The pair will take the green flag around the 12 Turn, 2.54-mile track for one final time in 2020 on Oct. 16 at 9:10 a.m. ET.

Team Principal Brent O’Neill revels in the feat of making it to the end of this unprecedented season.

“This has been one of the hardest seasons I think anyone in IMSA has ever experienced,” O’Neill said. “Through it, all my guys were flexible and never stopped pushing. I’d love to cap off this season with both cars on the podium. The drivers and the crew have worked so hard to get to this point with support from our partners at Motel 6 and VB Enviro Care it’s safe to say they all deserve it.”

The No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JS P3, piloted by Dan Goldburg, Delray Beach, and Rasmus Lindh, Gothenburg, Sweden enters the weekend fourth in the championship. Entering the season mid-season has left Lindh low on points, however, co-driver Goldburg sits fourth in the driver standings. The pair will do everything in their power to earn their third podium of the season and boost Goldburg into one of the top three championship positions.

The No. 75 VB Enviro Care Ligier JS P3 is prepped for battle with Cameron Cassels, British Columbia, and new teammate Stephen Simpson, Indianapolis, Indiana, taking the reins. Cassels has faced a season of hurdles as he fought to gain entry to the country, juggle mandated quarantines due to his Canadian citizenship and battled a bout of bad luck on track. Simpson joins Cassels this weekend aiming to end the No. 75’s season on a high note with its first podium of the season.

The team moves on Wednesday, October 14, to kick off the weekend with the IMSA Prototype Challenge promoter test day. Limited ticket sales will be available for the event ranging from one to four-day passes.
